Mr Mullen said most of the injuries appeared to be minor, but a female in her 70s was being treated for chest soreness and a male in his 20s had shoulder and head injuries.
He said paramedics were called to the scene about 1pm.
EARLIER: TWO people are being taken to Bendigo Health and another patient is being assessed after a two-car crash at Maiden Gully.
A white Mitsubishi Magna sedan and a blue Honda Civic have collided at the intersection of the Calder Highway and Edwards Road.
Three ambulances attended the scene.
Two patients have been taken from the scene.
Paramedics are assessing a third patient.
Police are allowing traffic along the Calder Highway.
