The Australian team was 12-points down heading into the final quarter on Monday but managed to outscore them to win 73 to 71.
It was the sixth scrimmage in nine days for the Opals.
Richards and her Spirit teammate Kelly Wilson were a part of the Opals team which toured the United States of America.
Lady Braves centre Alex Bunton was also a part of the 12-person American tour.
Opals head coach Brendan Joyce said he was proud of his team and the effort they put in.
“We’ve pushed them right to the limit on this tour, trying to simulate what is expected when we are at the World Championships and the players came through with flying colours," he said.
“To get the win was a great way to end the tour.
"I was more impressed by the way we played against really high quality opposition.”
The Opals team will now have a break over the next six weeks.
Joyce will then announce a squad in July which will take part in a camp at the Basketball Australia National Centre of Excellence in Canberra.
