The ladder-leading Griffins were superior in the set play and broke even at the breakdown to set up a good platform for their excellent five-eighth, who constantly turned the Miners around with well-placed kicks.
Maroondah scored two tries in the first half and another in the second.
Bendigo number 8 Josephar Maiai made some strong runs from the base of a back-pedalling scrum while flanker Lolo Eliasi also shone. Full-back Henele Fa’avae had a big game with some elusive running and accurate chip kicks.
Young hooker Calum Clifton, a product of the Miners’ junior program had his best game since graduating to the senior ranks.
The Miners are at Epsom-Huntly this Saturday to play Northern Panthers.
