POLICE say a man is lucky he did not sustain any life-threatening injuries after his red Ford ute collided with a bus carrying 50 people in west Bendigo on Friday night.
Bendigo Police First Constable Paul Lethlean said the Kangaroo Flat man, aged 36, had failed to give way at the intersection of Booth Street and Marong Road about 7.15pm.
He said the driver of the bus was travelling towards Marong and had tried to avoid the ute.
He said the bus collided with the Ford causing it to spin out of control.
"He was very, very lucky," First Constable Lethlean said.
"Anytime you have a collision between a car and bus, the bus is always going to win.
