They’re nervous but excited about the set.
“I’m very nervous,” bass player Riley Harrington said.
“I had a bit of a funny nightmare the other night where the whole crowd went to watch another band.”
While some festival audience will (like Outlines are) be hanging out to see acts like Violent Soho, Parkway Drive and Dizzee Rascal, the band is hopeful to get a few new fans on board.
“We entered the Triple J Unearthed competition just to have a go,” Harrington said.
“We didn’t think get it but its awesome. It’s a great opportunity and we’ll get a lot out of it.”
To combat nerves the band is hoping to see a few familiar face during their 15-minute set.
“We’re playing first up, so we are hoping to get the crowds coming in,” drummer Ryan Woodlock said.
“The bill is a great big line-up of different genres, so we’re expecting a lot of different people to see us for the first time. Hopefully we can get a few new fans.”
Outlines has had a slight formation change with regular singer-guitarist Daniel Casley in America.
“We have Stevie (Hammer) filling in for us. He’s a great shredder,” Lead guitarist Marcus Kent said. “(Daniel) left for America at the wrong time.”
But despite a massive gig first up, Stevie is as excited as his band mates.
“It’s definitely a big task to take on,” he said.
“I’ve known the guys since well before the band started and followed them around, so I already knew all the songs.”
Outlines play at The Musicman Mega Store in Bendigo tonight. They open GTM tomorrow at 11am.
