Reigning premiers YCW will host Calivil United in round three action of the Loddon Valley Netball League.
The two senior sides hold the first two positions on the ladder.
Both teams have had made emphatic starts to the season, each scoring more than 100 combined goals in their first two games.
Ahead of the big game both senior coaches agreed it would be a contest that could go down to the wire.
Calivil United coach Karen Pascoe said throughout the past two years both teams have played in hard-fought games.
“We have had some close battles before, I just hope it is a good game” she said.
Pascoe identified YCW shooter Cara Bastian as one player the team needed to shut down if they are a chance of winning the four points.
“She is a big threat, we need to control her,” she said.
“Their centre court is also very strong.”
Pascoe said after the next two rounds the team would see where they sit within the competition.
“We are really looking forward to the game against YCW and then the week after we have Mitiamo,” she said.
In their past three encounters YCW have managed to score the win.
During last year’s home and away season the two teams played twice. YCW won by seven goals and then by one.
The Eagles also had a big win in the 2013 semi-final.
“They won by 15 goals,” she said.
“They came out stronger; they really stepped up their game in the final.
“Hopefully we can get one back on them."
YCW coach Christie Griffiths said the team had the edge over Calivil.
“We expected them to be our biggest competition for the year,” she said. “No doubt it will be a close game.”
The game will be played at Backhaus Oval in Fir Street, Golden Square on Saturday at 2.30pm.
