Great stuff.
Anything that can further assist police catch drivers who flout road laws is most welcome in our community.
Hard to argue you 'weren't' using a phone when police have a nice snap to prove it, right?
Any regular road user will be well aware mobile phones remain one of the major distractions on our roads.
People talking as they drive, tweeting as they go, using the time stopped at traffic lights to bash away on the phone... it's common practice despite being illegal.
Wouldn't you just love a dollar for every time someone suddenly drops that mobile phone when they see a police car.
Anything that can help police combat drivers who continue to flout the road laws should be welcome in our community.
Well, these cameras will stop that - people will be gone before they know it.
No doubt the 'revenue raising' chorus will fire up again in reaction to news of this camera trial but, as always, the counter argument is solid - don't touch your mobile phone while driving and you have nothing to worry about.
This is a worthy trial.
