The reigning Bendigo International Madison track champion, Crome has scored 27 points in three road races.
After a victory in the Tour of East Gippsland and placing at Mt Buller, Crome was well down the order in Saturday’s 103km trek from Warragul to Mt Baw Baw.
Brodie Talbot from the Budget Forklifts team was first to the line at Baw Baw ahead of Horsham’s Mark O’Brien and then Matt Clark.
Racing for Avanti, Strathdale’s Chris Hamilton was fourth and team-mate Jack Haig was 16th.
Placings for the Feelgood Fitness RACE team from Bendigo were Sam Fuhrmeister 37th, Aidan Bowe 38th, and Lachlan Jones 49th.
Next round in the VRS is the Tour of South West on April 26-27 at Warrnambool.
