Trove Market at the Good Loaf Bakery is the brainchild of Linda Whillance and Shona O'Brien.
It will feature 40 local artists and makers presenting paintings, furniture, clothing, jewellery, food, candles and decor.
The two good friends wanted something new and different to do on a Sunday.
"We just realised that there wasn't much to do in Bendigo," Ms Whillance said.
What sets this market apart is the criteria they have set for each potential stallholder.
"We have a stallholders' criteria so we can ensure the products we sell are of the best quality - innovation, quality, individuality, locality and sustainability," she said.
Ms O'Brien said each market would include a community barbecue to raise money for a different organisation each month.
"The funds raised (this month) will go to local, Kathryn Wright as she raises money for her team in the Mother's Day Classic," she said.
"We are also partnering with Radius to have a stall for artists with a disability."
Local musical acts Sherri Parry, Josh White, Tom Salmon and Liam Thorpe will perform throughout the day.
The market will be on the third Sunday of each month except for the first market on Sunday, April 27.
The market will be open between 10am and 2pm at the Good Loaf Bakery.
