The Magpies confirmed on Wednesday they had secured Seymour's Saad - well-known for his freakish marking and goalkicking abilities - for the one-off appearance against the Bulldogs at Gardiner Reserve.
Saad's connection to Castlemaine is via new Magpies' coach Shane Robertson.
Robertson last year coached Saad at Seymour, which doesn't play its first game of 2014 until April 12.
"He's going to come and play for us this week, which will certainly be exciting for the club," Castlemaine football operations manager Lachlan Maltby said.
Saad - who has his own highlights package on Youtube - is a four-time leading goalkicker in the powerful Goulburn Valley Football League, including last year when he booted 101 goals in a Lions team that missed the finals.
Meanwhile, Castlemaine's under-18 side will return to the field this week after it spent a season in recess last year.
The Magpies under-18s will be coached by Brent McGuire.
"It's massive having the under-18s back," Maltby said.
"We've got 25 kids ready to go, and there's a fair amount of quality in there.
"There's a really good vibe heading into the new season and we can't wait for it to get under way."
