Local resident and real estate agent Geoff Parsons will oversee the official launch of the Bendigo LJ Hooker agency on April 12.
The office will be at 108 Pall Mall, next to Clogs Pizza & Restaurant.
Mr Parsons said he would employ three staff members to begin with but may hire more if the business was successful.
Mr Parsons said Bendigo's property market was booming, with a significant market for newly-built houses as well as a strong demand for rentals.
He said that as Bendigo's population increased properties would become smaller.
He said new subdivisions of land would result in Bendigo having "more of an urban set-up", with customers happy to buy into more compact properties.
The construction of the new hospital, on the other hand, was fueling demand for the rental market.
Mr Parsons said LJ Hooker was a large national company that was expanding into regional cities.
He said that in Melbourne there had been a strong push into the Chinese market, which he may try to capitalise on as well.
"LJ Hooker is the only Australian real estate franchise that advertises on the biggest Chinese real estate website, Juwai," he said.
Mr Parsons said when he found out there was an opportunity to open an agency in Bendigo "I grabbed it with both hands".
"I've always lived here but was travelling up to Queensland for work," Mr Parsons said.
He was previously been selling investment properties in mining areas in Mackay, Queensland, but was happy to now be working in Bendigo, where he has lived his whole life.
He said he would tailor the business for Bendigo clients.
"We'll be getting behind local people by sponsoring community events," he said.
He said he loved his job as he was helping people fulfill their dreams.
"Everyone dreams of owning their own home," he said.
"I'm here to help them fulfill that."
