Mrs Turley and her husband Jason raised $1500 from a barefoot bowls fund-raiser at the weekend and will donate the money to Transplant Australia.
She said about 80 people attended the event and she hoped to organise a fund-raiser every year.
"It made a lot of people stop and think," she said.
"That was the main aim of the day - I really think we achieved that."
Mrs Turley is a diabetic and is on the waiting list for a new kidney and pancreas.
She said it was not about forcing people to sign up as organ donors but about encouraging them to have the conversation with their family members.
"It is not so much about signing up right away," she said.
"Have a think about it and talk to your family.
"Make sure your family know if (organ donation) is something you really want to do."
