THE Panthers faded late in the season to miss a berth in the finals, finishing fifth for the second year in a row.
They had been sitting fourth heading into round 11, but in their last two games they fell apart with the bat when they were skittled for just 82 and 117 in defeats to Golden Gully and United.
The poor finish to the season was in stark contrast to their form between rounds three and seven when they won five in a row and averaged a score of 281.
At that stage when they were 6-1 and sat second on the ladder they looked every bit a premiership contender, so to not even make the finals should sting over the winter.
Captain Jeremy Ross was the Panthers’ standout player as he combined 387 runs with 20 wickets.
DIVISION 2: 3rd – 7-4-2.
DIVISION 3: 10th – 2-7-1.
DIVISION 4: No team.
