Playing against Australian Diamonds and Fireboards' star Laura Geitz, Bendigo-raised Thwaites showed her class, scoring 29 goals from 32 attempts as the Swifts jumped from fifth to second on the ladder.
The Aldeaide Thunderbirds, which includes Bendigo product Bec Bulley, can jump ahead of the Swifts if they defeat bottom side Northern Mystics.
Waikato Magic maintained its unbeaten start to the season, with a five goal win over the Melbourne Vixens.
