The donation comes agents gave up their commission from the sale of land as part of a rate recovery auction.
Former REIV chairman and Bendigo Health Foundation board member Matt Bowles said the money was going to a good cause.
“The City of Greater Bendigo approached us to sell a block of land at a rate recovery auction,” he said.
“This is when people don’t pay their rates the council repossess the land to make up the unpaid rates.
“We have donated the commission from this sale to the foundation.
“Lee Savage deserves a mention as he was the agent who sold the block and he put a lot of work in and didn’t get any commission.
“It is always good when a local organisation like the REIV can support Bendigo Health.
“It is going to a good cause.”
Bendigo Health Foundation director Jane Anderson said the foundation wanted to thank the REIV for their generous donation.
“This donation will be put towards the foundation’s funding rounds, which allows staff from throughout the hospital to submit a proposal for funding equipment or projects which will benefit patients,” she said.
“In particular we would like to thank Matt Bowles who is a member of the Bendigo Health Foundation board and who was the chair of the REIV when this donation was allocated.”
