Volunteers ready for SPAN walk

SEVERAL health and welfare organisations will provide volunteers for the Bendigo Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk on Sunday.

Lifeline, Bendigo Community Health and the StandBy response service Bendigo will have volunteers available to talk with people attending the walk if needed.

The groups were represented at Tuesday morning's HALT Save Your Bacon breakfast in Bendigo.

The annual Bendigo Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk will leave Bendigo's Dai Gum San precinct at 11am on Sunday.

Activities for the event will start at 9.30am with an official ceremony and free sausage sizzle after the walk.

The Black Dog Ride will combine with the SPAN Walk for the first time this year with around 300 riders set to leave the McRae Street carpark bound for Puckapunyal at 10.50am.
