POLICE have been alerted of a suspicious grass fire in Axedale today, which began about 2.40pm and was put out about 3.10pm.

A CFA spokesman said the fire, on Enright Road, was put out by four CFA units.
He said firefighters were currently at the scene blacking out, but were expected to return within half an hour.
He said about 0.4 of a hectares of land was burnt and there was no indication houses were under threat.
"It all happened quickly and was put out quickly," he said.
He said the CFA had alerted police of the incident, which the CFA identified as suspicious.
