The crash occurred at about 11am when a white Ford panel van failed to give way when turning right into Napier Park Funerals.
The panel van struck a Mazda that was travelling in the other direction.
No one was seriously hurt in the accident but the Mazda's learner driver was taken to hospital for a check up and is expected to be released quickly.
The learner driver was travelling with her mother and two children, both aged under 3, in the backseat.
Police said everyone involved in the accident was wearing seatbelts.
The 76-year-old driver of the panel van was issue with an infringement notice for failing to give way.
