Volunteers from both groups delivered eight Fire Ready street corner meetings in Kangaroo Flat during the 2013-2014 fire season.
Kangaroo Flat residents were provided with information about bushfire safety and got the chance to speak with CFA personnel.
CFA community education co-ordinator Paul Tangey said the meetings were well-received by the public.
He said it was important for residents to be fire ready and this was the message the groups were trying to get across.
"It was a team effort by the CFA and Kangaroo Flat Community Group," he said.
