The former publicity officer for the Vote No Republic campaign and founding member of Australians for a Constitutional Monarchy has a vast collection of items devoted to the royal family.
The Queen is her favourite royal, and Mrs Mitchell remembers fondly when the Queen came in 1954.
“It was the year I met my husband,” she said.
“I was in Adelaide.
“It was lovely; there were crowds of course.
“I was waiting at the main intersection when she drove to Government House.
"I remember she had this lovely emerald green hat.
“She is a gorgeous person. I have grown up in her era.”
This week marks the 60th anniversary of the Queen's visit to Bendigo on March 5, 1954, and we want to hear your stories.
