ALMOST two decades since he shot for gold, Ironbark's Geoff Grenfell has his sights on competing at this year's Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
The marksman's outstanding feats have earned induction to the Bendigo Advertiser-WIN Television Sports Star Hall of Fame.
Grenfell was inuducted by Basil Ashman, a member of the Sports Star committee since its inception in 1965-66.
The Hall of Fame was one of many highlights at Friday night's presentation of the Bendigo Bank-sponsored awards at the All Seasons Hotel.
It's been full-bore rifle shooting where Grenfell has left his mark on ranges around the world.
Grenfell won gold in the pairs event at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Canada.
His Games feat, as well winning two Australian Cup shoot-offs, a Queen's title and pairs finals earned the Bendigo Advertiser Sports Star of the Year award in 1994-95.
The disappointment from the Delhi Commonwealth Games has played a big part in Grenfell's drive to qualify for Glasgow.
He finished 2013 at No.1 in the race for selection in the shooting squad for Scotland.
Grenfell's career highs include 10 Queen's Prize wins and nine Australia Cup titles.
"They are remarkable efforts in one of the most difficult and exacting sports," Ashman said during the induction.
One of the country's top guns, Grenfell shows no sign of stopping soon.
