Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours.
Bendigo is one of the locations which may be affected.
The State Emergency Service advises people to keep clear of fallen power lines, secure any loose objects, keep away from creeks and drains, do not drive through flooded areas, stay indoors and listen to the radio for updates.
The warning comes after Bendigo's central business district experienced a hail storm Wednesday afternoon.
People in the street were sent scurrying for shelter as the storm hit the city.
It only lasted a couple of minutes.
