Daniel Callanan, 27, was remanded in police holding cells last Friday February 14 after he was observed driving while unlicenced.
Callanan had appeared in court one day earlier and had an adjournment granted for earlier charges of driving while unlicenced and giving a false name to police.
The Bendigo Magistrates' Court heard he was stopped by police in a Holden Commodore on Pall Mall about 8.20pm Friday.
He admitted breaching bail conditions and told police he was driving to McDonalds.
The court heard he had his licence disqualified for two years in July 2013.
Defence lawyer Peter Baker said Callanan was on medication for mental illness, which affected his decision making.
Callanan was bailed on Monday under strict reporting conditions.
Magistrate Kay Robertson ordered him to not get behind the wheel of a car and said "if you breach bail conditions again I can almost promise you won't get bail".
