Mark Peter Llewellyn, 33, of Muckleford, appeared for a brief mention in the Bendigo Magistrates' court via video link on Monday. He had his case adjourned to a contest mention on March 18.
Llewellyn was arrested after smashing his car into a traffic light in Kangaroo Flat on January 18.
Police allege Llewellyn had attacked a man with a screw driver, then threatened to kill him before fleeing in his car and smashing into a traffic light in High Street.
A number of back-up police officers were called to the crash and capsicum spray was used to restrain Llewellyn.
