Paul Anthony Ellis, 40, was cleared of all charges by a jury after a County Court trial held in Melbourne this week.
Accused rapist found not guilty
The jury unanimously found Mr Ellis not guilty on both counts.
The charges included two counts of rape and multiple counts of causing serious injury to his ex-partner between 1997 and 2004.
The trial ran from Monday to Wednesday.
Mr Ellis was initially due to face trial in Bendigo in August 2013 but the trial was pushed back.
