Blissfully unaware about what was going to take place, Blicavs was led to the Bendigo Advertiser offices for a birthday surprise.
In honour of her 21st birthday week of celebrations her Spirit teammates Chantella Perera and Tessa Lavey came together, with the help of the Addy, to stun her.
The sting all began when the Addy tweeted at Blicavs telling her to be at our office in 20 minutes.
With her teammates in toe, she walked over to our office.
Addy ‘paparazzi’ welcomed the birthday girl at the door before yours truly blindfolded her before she made her entrance.
Unbeknown to Blicavs, a beautifully made white chocolate mud cake shaped as a basketball was waiting for her.
The delicious cake, ordered by the Addy from Country Cakes, even had the Bendigo Spirit logo on it.
Blicavs couldn’t believe her eyes.
“It is an amazing cake,” she said.
“I am having an amazing birthday week.”
Blicavs laughed saying now she was able to not only live and breathe basketball but eat it too.
“Tessa and I had an AIS coach that always used to say to us you have to live, breathe, sleep, eat basketball,” she said.
“We always used to laugh and ask how do you eat basketball and now we can show him.”
Blicavs, whose actual birthday is on Saturday, said she had been spoilt by her teammates, family and friends.
“We had a lovely dinner with all the girls at Masons and now this,” she said.
“I am just trying to soak it all up.”
