The new AFLCV Australian Football Coaching Association aims to emphasise the importance of coaching for the future of the game.
Drum - the former Fremantle AFL and Bendigo Diggers VFL coach - is the ambassador for the association.
Bendigo Pioneers' coach Newett and Bendigo Gold coach Jones are the lead mentors who will support coaches in the region.
"Coaches from all levels in the region will be actively involved in the AFCA," AFLCV development manager Rick Coburn said on Saturday.
"Coaches will at times be categorised into representative, senior, female, youth, junior and Auskick sub-groups, or have access to coaches from different age groups.
"One of the main focuses of the AFCA will be information sharing, training and professional development meetings. We believe it will be a fantastic program and a great benefit to coaches throughout the region."
The association will hold monthly meetings on Monday nights. AFLCV is on the lookout for a hospitality sponsor for the monthly meetings in Bendigo and across the region.
