Dwayne Williams, 34, was locked up on Saturday night after making threats to kill a woman and a boy.
The Bendigo Magistrates' Court heard Williams was in an "unfit state" to appear for a video link bail application on Monday.
Prosecuting Constable Martin Friend said Williams defecated in his cell Monday morning and smeared it along the floor and walls.
Williams' case was delayed until Tuesday, where he appeared in custody.
The court heard Williams used the drug ice and drank alcohol before he went to verbally abuse the occupants of an Eaglehawk home about 8.30pm Saturday.
Constable Friend said Williams was armed with a broom handle when he banged on the door of the house and demanded to see a 13-year-old boy who was inside.
Williams allegedly said to the boy "don't walk in Eaglehawk. I'm going to slit your throat".
He allegedly told the woman who was present "you're dead you dog. Call the police. I'm not scared. I did two years."
The court heard Williams also threatened to "petrol the house" before he left on foot and was arrested a short time later.
Defence lawyer Peter Monagle said Williams had extensive prior convictions. Mr Monagle argued for a sentencing indication of three months imprisonment on top of a Community Corrections Order. Williams was remanded in custody and will reappear in court in March.
