The Country Awareness Network and Bendigo - Equality, Participation, Inclusion and Celebration (B-EPIC) have travelled to the event in past years.
CAN executive officer Adam Wright said a bus scheduled to travel from Bendigo to Melbourne had been cancelled.
"It was a tough decision but we have decided to cancel the bus because of the hot conditions," he said.
"Lots of the young people are disappointed but we didn't want to risk it in the heat.
"There is going to be a lot of standing around, and waiting around."
The 19th annual march celebrates the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer community.
The march will leave from the corner of Fitzroy Street and Lakeside Drive about 2pm, and finish in the Catani Gardens.
