Onyx has urinary incontinence and needs urgent surgery.
When she was just six weeks old Onyx developed parvovirus; a disease that is often fatal in unvaccinated dogs.
"She was so sick I didn't think she was going to make it.
"She hadn't eaten for 10 days and was getting so thin," Furever Friends president Jess Woodford said.
After treatment Onyx was adopted out to a family who then returned her because she seemed unwell.
"She is such a happy puppy and you wouldn't know she was unwell," she said.
Jess intends to make sure each animal adopted out is 100 per cent healthy before giving them to their "furever family".
They need to raise a minimum of $2600 to fund Onyx surgery.
Funds from Peter Sheahan's Walk Up at the All Season's Hotel Bendigo will go to Onyx's fund.
The event starts at 1.30pm on Sunday. Admission is $10 with funds raised going to Onyx's appeal. For more information call 5446 3805.
Bank details for the appeal: Furever Friends Bendigo Inc., BSB 633000, Acc. No: 150359644. Label donations as 'onyx'.
