Organisers for the regional music festival confirmed the leak yesterday when they commented on social media.
"OK, looks like the cat's out of the bag," the update read.
"Karnivool will be playing Groovin the Moo 2014."
The leak comes as a surprise with GTM usually extremely tight-lipped about their line-up.
Karnivool accidentely confirmed their role in GTM during an interview with Triple J on Wednesday.
The remainder of the line-up will be revealed on January 28 before tickets go on sale on February 4.
Karnivool includes Ian Kenny as it's lead singer. Kenny is also lead singer for Birds of Tokyo who played GTM in 2011.
The band is currently on its Polymorphism Tour having played two shows at the Palace Theatre in Melbourne, the Marquee Showgrounds in Brisbane, Coolangatta Hotel and CEX in Coffs Harbour.
The band will play the Panthers in Newcastle on Thursday night before dates at RoundHouse in Sydney on Friday and Saturday, Waves in Wollongong on Sunday and Red Hill Auditorium in Perth on January 23.
The band released its third album Asymmetry in July.
Thousands of music fans will descend on Bendigo Showgrounds for the May 3 concert.
