WHILE most people look forward to the last day of the year for New Year's Eve, James Fleming has a different reason to celebrate - his birthday.

The 11-year-old was born at Bendigo Hospital on December 31 about 8.16pm.

James said he enjoyed celebrating his birthday during the festive season.

"I like it because you get double the amount of presents," he said.

"It's good fun."

James celebrated his birthday with a family dinner at Clogs and later at a friend's house in Goornong.

James said his most memorable moment of 2013 was taking 14 wickets for Huntly-North Epsom Cricket Club during the season.

He said he hoped to take 15 in the new year.
