Mark Penzak, Blue Boat Theatre and the Phee Broadway Theatre will present Jules Verne’s Journey To The Centre of the Earth on Sunday, January 5 at 2pm.
The event involves storytelling, mime, puppetry, miniature worlds inside suitcases, special umbrellas and an erupting volcano.
The story follows young Axel who accidentally discovers a tunnel that descends through an Icelandic volcano into the heart of the Earth.
His eccentric uncle Professor Lidenbrock immediately launches an expedition accompanied by Hans, a hugely powerful Icelandic giant and Gertrude, his intrepid duck.
Together they journey through claustrophobic caves and glittering caverns.
Tickets will be available at the door, $12 for children (2 years and over) and entry for accompanying adults is free of charge.
The Phee Broadway Theatre is located in Mechanics Lane in Castlemaine.
