Bendigo regional president of St Vincent de Paul , Tony Spurling, said the toys were “fabulous” and the final fundraising tally of $9,500 for food vouchers gratefully received.
“We are always very pleased with the effort of the Bendigo Motorcycle Club,” Mr Spurling said.
“They don’t always get recognised but they are very sympathetic and willing to help the disadvantaged, and have been doing so for a long time.”
Mr Spurling also thanked the many Bendigo businesses who donated items in the Motorcycle Run auction.
He said there was a large and growing demand for assistance in the region.
“Last year 9,500 people came through our doors looking for assistance,” he said.
“This donation will help us to meet that demand.”
He said toys were in big demand especially at Christmas “and the kids are going to love them,” he said.
