Martin, who needs to finish in the top 25 after four rounds to earn a full tour card for 2014, is in a tie for sixth at the halfway mark.
Martin led the tournament after an opening round 66, but couldn't repeat his fine form on day two.
The Neangar Park member shot an even-par 72 on Wednesday to be six-under for the tournament, seven shots behind leader Callan O'Reilly.
Martin had three birdies, one bogey and one double bogey in his second round.
Going into Thursday's third round, Martin is five shots inside the top 25.
