Browne excelled in the under-16s boys' hammer throw to win a silver medal in Townsville.
The Catholic College student hurled a huge 53.39m best effort.
Browne also took out sixth place in the shotput and seventh in the discus.
South Bendigo athlete Lawson stormed to third in the 200m and 400m under-18s finals in Townsville.
Lawson, who hails from the Goulburn Valley, qualified fourth-fastest for both events, but saved her best for the finals.
She shaved .30 off her preliminary race as she sprinted to a 24.49 time in the 200m final.
Lawson then flew home in 56.2 seconds in the 400m.
Eaglehawk Secondary College's Olivia Graham performed admirably to claim fourth place with a 29.11m effort in the under-14s hammer throw.
Lachie Johnson impressed in his two events.
The sprinter qualified sixth-fastest for the under-14s 90m hurdles final in 13.71 seconds.
CCB's Johnson finished eighth in the final in 13.86 seconds, before helping Victoria's 'A' team to fourth place in the 4x100m relay.
