Leanne Taig, Judi Ludeman, Kylie Morrison and Kristy Arnold will complete part of the Horse Ride for Cancer, a 76-day trek spanning three states and 2545 kilometres.
More than 200 riders with volunteer support crews will be participating along the way with the aim of raising $1 million for the Cancer Council.
Ms Taig will be riding from Wedderburn to Bendigo then on to Heathcote, in memory of her father, Peter Taig, who died 16 years ago of multiple myeloma cancer.
She will be joined by Ms Morrison, Ms Arnold and breast cancer survivor Ms Ludeman, who will ride out from Inglewood and Bendigo.
Each member of the group has been touched by cancer in some shape or form, having lost either family or a friend to the deadly disease.
Ms Taig said cancer was a curse she wouldn’t wish upon anybody and hoped through their fundraising efforts the group could help to further research and support.
The ride will arrive in Bendigo on August 23 and leave for Heathcote on the 25th.
Ms Taig said the women were asking the Bendigo community to help support them by donating or sponsoring on a “per day, per kilometre basis”.
