The number two seed handed herself a tough opening round match against training partner Viktorija Rajicic.
Rajicic is ranked 126 places lower than world number 166 Rogowska, but still worries last year's runner-up.
"She's a really tough up-and-coming junior, she hits the ball pretty big and she's got a really strong forehand," Rogowska said.
"We know each other's games really well because we both train at the same centre down in Melbourne.
"I think it's a pretty tough first round so I have to be up for it."
Rogowska was elevated to second seed, behind American Irina Falconi, following Ashleigh Barty's withdrawal from the first of two $50,000 Bendigo Internationals.
The 22-year-old is set for a semi-final encounter against her conqueror in last year's Bendigo final - Russia's Arina Rodionova.
Back for her fourth crack at the title, Rogowska is aiming to go one step further than last year.
"I usually play some pretty good tennis in Bendigo, but I've just never got the win," Rogowska said.
"I've been playing some pretty good tennis lately, so hopefully I keep it up."
Defending champion Rodionova has a first round clash against Dianne Hollands, ranked 450 places lower in the world.
Top seed Falconi will be a tough ask for 15-year-old wildcard Pamela Boyanov from Sydney.
Fourth seed and 2011 winner Casey Dellacqua has drawn Petra Krejsova from the Czech Republic.
Dellacqua has a soft run until the quarter-finals, when she would face eighth seed Irena Pavlovic before a likely semi-final against Falconi.
Japanese fifth seed Sachie Ishizu will play New Zealand qualifier Emma Hayman.
Hayman outclassed Nicole Hoynaski 6-2 6-0 in Monday's third round qualifying match.
Pavlovic should make light work of Japan's Ayaka Okuno, who defeated Ashling Sumner 6-3 6-2 in Monday qualifying.
Other qualifiers were Ema Mikulcic and Karolina Wlodarczak.
Only two of the eight seeds will be in action on day one.
Number three Erika Sema from Japan takes on Estonia's Anett Kontaveit at 10am on court two.
Also on court at 10am will be Sema's older sister, Yurika.
The seventh seed is set to do battle with Perth's Jessica Moore on court six.
The only other singles match features an all-Australian duel between Azra Hadzic and Nives Baric on court one at 10am.
Seven doubles matches will round out the opening day's play.
The feature match includes Rogowska and Monique Adamczak taking on Pamela Boyanov and Ashley Keir on court one not before 4.30pm.
