Bride's name: Kate Guy
Bridegroom's name: Shaun Strom
Wedding Date: April 13, 2013
The Meeting
Shaun and I met through mutual friends. After a few meetings we exchanged numbers and got to know each other better. We went to a party one night and I offered Shaun a ride home. Once we arrived at his place and were saying goodbye, he leaned into me and gve me a kiss. He is such a gentleman, he asked me first if it was ok!
The Proposal
Shaun bought me a milkshake and took me to Lake Weeroona. It is one of my favourite places as I love to go and feed the ducks.
Once we sat down on the grass and I started to feed them, Shaun said he had left his phone in the car and went back to get it.
I didn't realise he was really going to get the ring, or that as he walked away the phone began to ring - in his pocket!
Lucky for him, I was too distracted by the ducks. He came back and sat next to me and then he proposed. I said yes after 45 minutes of crying.
The Wedding Day
Our ceremony was held on the Echuca Wharf. The weather was a perfect 25 degrees.
I chose the wharf for the ceremony because of the cockatoos. I love birds and I wanted them to fly overhead while we were getting married. As I reached Shaun at the end of the aisle, a flock of cockatoos flew over.
While we were away having our photos taken, all the guests were treated to a lovely cruise down the mighty Murray River on the paddle steamer PS Pevensey.
The reception was held at Radcliffe's at Echuca which has one of the most beautiful settings and the ambience was spectacular.
The Dress
My dress was a strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline. The fitted bodice was embellished with rainbow crystals and the skirt was multi-layered organza. The dress was bought from De Blues in Echuca.
The Cake
The four-tier cake was made of mud marble. It was decorated with diamante bands and the custom-made topper was of us with our pet cockatiel.
The cake was made by Tracey's Cakes in Echuca and the topper was made by Sweet Frost Tops in Melbourne.

Honeymoon
We got to witness the eighth wonder of the world in Ha Long Bay while on our honeymoon in Vietnam and Cambodia.
