Representatives from Rio Tinto were in Bendigo yesterday to inspect the 100 ton capacity turntable.
Australian Turntable Company executive chairman Paul Chapman said a load test was completed the turntable was given the tick of approval.
“It went fantastic,” he said.
“They loved it.”
Mr Chapman said the testing took a couple of hours.
“It took a while to get the truck up there and then we ran a series of tests and the inspectors run their own stuff after that,” he said.
“It was a pretty straightforward process.
“There’s a set schedule of what needs to be tested, things like noise and vibration and all those sorts of things and that all went well.
“And then we loaded up to its maximum capacity and tested it with that.
“It was actually a magnificent sight.”
Construction of the six metre diameter mining truck turntable started in February.
“We will now disassemble and when Rio Tinto want their product we’ll get it over to them,” Mr Chapman said.
“Hopefully from this project we’ll be able to make some more.
“It will only be good for Bendigo.”
