Mr Barker has lived in Romsey for 19 years and has worked for most of his life in the Australian Grains Industry.
“I believe that the Greens is the only party prepared to address the challenges of the 21st century by formulating bold policies which are morally ethical, ecologically sustainable, promote equal opportunities for all Australians, and will enable our economy to thrive and prosper in the future,” he said.
One of Mr Barker’s concerns is the effect that human induced climate change will have on agriculture.
“We just cannot afford to do nothing, and leave our children and grandchildren with the unimaginable legacy of a much warmer and dryer country which cannot even produce its own food,” he said.
