Marong Primary School is the first to benefit from the www.helpuskickgoals.com.au initiative, which helps schools raise funds for projects they otherwise could not afford.
Thanks to BLS Financial, 11 schools throughout central Victoria will be given proceeds from the auction of AFL tickets throughout the footy season.
BLS Financial has made available two tickets to the Medallion Club for all games played at Etihad Stadium and two tickets in the Members Reserve area for all games played at the MCG during the season.
Marong Primary School has been allocated the first two rounds – and wants to raise as much money as possible to get new goal posts in place for the footy season.
The school has the posts, but has not had the funds to get them installed.
Its goal was given a push on 3BO yesterday, when radio hosts Cogho and Beck, joined by Adam Mackenzie from BLS Financial and Nicole Ferrie and Kooka from the Bendigo Advertiser, visited the school to kick off the program.
The school community embraced the initiative by throwing a pancake breakfast during the launch.
The www.helpuskickgoals.com.au team will visit each of the 11 schools throughout the footy season, so keep listening to the radio and reading the paper to find out what each school is up to.
