Ms Peeler, who travelled across Vietnam singing to troops in the late 1960s, attended Eaglehawk’s Star Cinema for the final screening of Australian movie, The Sapphires.
More than 60 people attended the event, where Ms Peeler spoke candidly about her life experiences both before and after becoming a Sapphire.
PEACE president and organiser Phil West said the fund-raiser was a success.
“There was a big crowd that appreciated Lois and listened to her stories and asked questions about the film, her personal background and how she became a singer,” he said.
“People also got to have a one-on-one chat with her as well.”
Mr West said the aim of the PEACE organisation was to support children who had been affected by war.
The money raised from the event would help fund a refugee camp on the Thailand/Burma border.
