Bendigo police inspector Gerry Rudkins has earned such an honour.
Inspector Rudkins is a worthy winner of Victoria’s first National Police Service Medal.
The medal recognises police officers with more than 15 years of ethical and diligent service. Inspector Rudkins can boast more than 30 years.
His dedication and leadership in roles at Bendigo, Castlemaine and other regions across Victoria has earned Inspector Rudkins the respect of his staff and people from all walks of life across the broader community.
It was fitting that Victoria Police chief commissioner Ken Lay and deputy commissioner Keiran Walshe visited the Epworth Hospital to present Inspector Rudkins with his medal.
The passion shown by Inspector Rudkins for the police force and communities he served deserved nothing less.
Chief commissioner Lay highlighted the importance of this honour.
“You’ve been a wonderful servant to Victoria Police, the community and your family and friends. I’m very proud to be presenting this to you,” he said.
When it comes to the Victoria Police force, the praise can reach no greater height.
