ADAM Simpson, a dual AFL premiership player and former club captain at North Melbourne, is warming up to make a comeback with Kyneton in the Bendigo Football League.
In a coup for the Tigers, former North Melbourne, Geelong and Richmond forward Kent Kingsley has also agreed to line up for the yellow and black.
Both spoke to Kyneton assistant coach Nathan Thompson, who played in the big league for Hawthorn and North Melbourne, about playing for the club this season.
Kyneton coach Derrick Filo said it was still to be decided when Simpson and Kingsley would be available to play for the Tigers.
"Adam and Kent might be able to play for us this round (at home against Golden Square) or the next," Filo said.
"Clearances have been lodged, but their availability to play with us depends on other commitments."
Simpson is in his third season as an assistant coach at Hawthorn.
"Having two players with AFL experience, especially Adam Simpson (306 matches) will be a huge plus for our young team," Filo said.
