LIFE is being made easier for new mums, thanks to a new breastfeeding chair at Bendigo’s St John of God Hospital.Premature baby support group Loddon Mallee Kids recently donated the chair to the hospital’s special care nursery. The recliner provides mums with more comfortable positions for breastfeeding and cost $400.LMK president Laura Campbell said the donation was made possible thanks to last month’s Pound the Pavement for Prems walk.“We raised nearly $4000,” she said. “Some of that will go to our group, we were able to buy the chair for St John of God and we’ll also be buying jelly beds, little mattresses for incubators, for Bendigo Health.”Ms Campbell said LMK was planning a fundraising ball for February 18.“We’ll be raising money for the special care units again and to put some of our volunteers through training.”
