BENDIGO twins Alanna and Alicia Egan are set to release their second album. The singer-songwriters will hold a launch at the Port Fairy Folk Festival next month, but they are also planning a launch in Bendigo in May.Alanna said the album Two in a Book was helped with a $6500 Victoria Rocks arts grant.“My sister and I have written the songs on the album, all except one,” she said.“We were asked to record it as part of a tribute for the National Folk Festival in Canberra.”The album also features performances by long-time band member Amy Bennett and special guests Andy and Pete Baylor. The sisters have a long association with Port Fairy’s annual festival.“We’ve been going since we were little, our parents used to take us,” Alanna said.“Apart from our CD launch, we are part of the Women’s Voice performance on Sunday and we’re playing on Fiddler’s Green and then having a retro open stage competition at the RSL from 7pm to 9pm.”Later this month Alanna and Alicia will pass another milestone when they support Scottish Fairground attraction singer Eddi Reader.“We’re supporting Eddi Reader, who sang Perfect in Brunswick, on March 20,” Alanna said.“It’s a really big thing for us.”
