POLICE hope a post-mortem will help them ascertain the circumstances that led to a body being found near Wedderburn.
A police media spokesman said the post-mortem would help officers determine the cause of death of a 60-year-old man from Ashwood near Melbourne.
The man was found yesterday at Fentons Creek, about 17km south west of Wedderburn.

A MAN in his 60s has died after falling into a fire at his holiday property in Fentons Creek yesterday.
Police believe the man, from Ashwood near Melbourne, was back burning shortly before 3pm when the fire got out of hand.
The man's body was discovered by CFA crews called to the grass fire on his Curnows Road property.
Police said the man’s son and the son’s girlfriend called emergency crews around 3.10pm.
A CFA spokesman confirmed responding firefighters found the man deceased after the fire had been extinguished.
Police said the cause of the man’s death was unknown and a post mortem examination would be carried out.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
