A DISPLAY of vintage cars, tractors, motor homes and stationary engines raised funds for Camp Quality Kids With Cancer over the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday at the Prince of Wales Showgrounds, $2000 was raised so children suffering from cancer could spend a fun-filled weekend away from home with their families.Held in conjunction with the Home Style Show and the Sunday market, admission to the display was a gold coin.Event co-ordinator Neil Athorn said the event continued to grow and benefit from the generosity of enthusiasts bringing cars, trucks, tractors, stationary engines and vintage motor homes to the showgrounds for display.Mr Athorn said Saturday’s weather had certainly tested the resolve of visitors, but on Sunday it was a pleasant winter’s day.“This year six cars from the display paid a visit to Hargreaves Mall on Saturday, which lifted public awareness of the event,” Mr Athorn said.“I am hopeful that we will be able to have the historic, restored Sandhurst fire ladder as part of the display next year.”He said Camp Quality was a wonderful initiative and he thanked everyone involved for their generosity.
