DSE active with Bendigo burns

A PLUME of smoke above the city’s skyline attracted the attention of Bendigo residents yesterday.A Department of Sustainability and Environment planned burn at Jackass Flat was responsible for the smoke.The DSE will have more planned burns today at the Dai Gum San area of Long Gully and California Gully and Sedgwick State Forest in Bendigo. There will also be three burns at Castlemaine, two at Heathcote and one in the Graytown-Spring Creek nature conservation reserve. Burns will continue on Monday at Castlemaine, Heathcote and Rushworth.
